My Yogurt Balls

Hi my dear page visitors. I am just in love with these yogurt balls. Aren’t they gorgeous? They look like jewels. Very healthy, light and tasty snacks. It is fantastic when you see how easy yogurt transform into these tasty balls.

Once you made your yogurt balls , you may keep plain yogurt balls in a jar with some olive oil or topping and serve them.

For making these tasty yogurt balls you would need to get rid of yogurt liquid and I made it with traditional method, as you would see in the following recipe. Also you have myriad choices for topping from dried herbs to seeds and nuts.

Ingredients

  • 500g Greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp salt

For topping

  • Dried herbs such as: dill, mint, oregano, chives,
  • Smoked paprika
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Chilli flakes
  • Dried rose petals
  • Chopped walnuts

Instructions

Stir salt into the yogurt . Pour the yogurt into a double layer of cheesecloth or kitchen cloth. Tied up the corners.. Hang it over a bowl and leave to drain for 24 hours, until all liquid left in the bowl and strain away.

That’s all you have to do . Resulting is a thick and creamy yogurt.

Shape it into little balls and roll in a topping your choice.

Coloured potato balls

I cooked these lovely potato balls with sweet potato and white potato. Easy to make and tasty.

Ingredients

1 large sweet potato

1 large white potato

1 large onion, finely chopped

1 tsp dried mint

1tsp beetroot powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil

Method

Cook the potatoes until tender.

Heat the oil in a pan, and fry the chopped onion until golden brown. Set aside.

In a bowl with beetroot powder add half of white potato and mash it. Then add salt, pepper, some of fried onion and mix well.

In other bowl, with dried mint, add other half of white potato. Mash it. Then add some of fried onion and seasoning with salt and pepper. Mix well.

In third bowl mash the sweet potato. Add some fried onion, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well. Give small ball shape to the mashed potatoes and serve it warm or cold.

Deep fried Brie/ Camembert cheese

My family and I are cheese lovers. We do enjoy any type of cheese and in any recipe: in a sandwich, in a cake, in a stew or deep fried ones. All are just delicious.

Ingredients for deep fried Brie and Camembert cheese
Brie cheese
Camembert cheese
4 eggs
2 slices of bread
1 orange
Golden bread crumbs
Plain flour
Basil leaves
Salt – pepper
Oil

Preparation
Toast the breads then crush them. Chop basil leaves finely. Mix bread crumbs with chopped basil and crushed breads. Cut Brie cheese into the cubes. Crack the eggs into a bowl and beat it. Mix flour with salt and pepper. Dip cheese cubes one by one in to the flour and coat it properly. Then, dip into the eggs and in last step dip cheese cubes into the bread crumb . Set aside.

Cut Camembert cheese into your favourite size and shape. Grate orange skin and add it to the bread crumb mixture that we made it earlier.Orange skin gives refreshing taste. Dip and coat Camembert cubes as like as Brie cheese. Set aside.


Heat the oil in a pot, and fry coated cheeses for about 2 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on the paper towels and serve it with your favorite jam.

Cheddar cheese balls

Cheese balls are one of greatest cold/warm appetisers and easy to serve. There are different ways of preparing cheese balls. In my previous posts, I have shared some of my cheese balls recipes. For today, I prepared these deep fried cute little cheddar cheese balls.

Ingredients

300g cheddar cheese, grated

1 egg yolk, beaten

1 clove of garlic, grated

pinch of black pepper to taste

handful fresh dill leaves, finely chopped

2 slices of bread

bread crumbs

Preparation

In a big bowl with grated cheddar cheese, add grated garlic, chopped dill leaves and diced bread and black pepper. Mix everything well. Make small balls. Dip in beaten egg and then coat with bread crumbs. Deep fry and serve with sweet chilli sauce.

Crispy Brown Onions

In Persian cuisine, onion has a special place and more or less in most of recipes we  use onions.
Sometimes it is easier to prepare fried onions and keep them for the time you need.

Crispy brown onions
Ingredients
2 onions
Plain flour
Vegetable oil

Methods
Peel off onions. Cut top and bottom of onions. Slice them thinly as much as possible. Heat the oil. Lightly coat slice onions in the flour. Then, deep fry them for few minutes, until they are golden brown. Then Put them on paper towel. That’s it. Done.

Cheese balls

Any kind of cheese is always tasty and lovely  starter or snack. I have prepared  cheese balls made with feta cheese and cream cheese with different garnishing. You can use your favourite herbs/fruits for your cheese balls.

Ingredients
300 g feta cheese
3 Tbsp. cream cheese
2 Tbsp. dried rose petal leaves
2 Tbsp. grounded walnuts
2 Tbsp. chopped chives
2 Tbsp. candied orange peel

Preparation
In a big bowl with feta cheese, add cream cheese. Mix together very well. Take small portion of cheese mixture (as big as a walnut) and give ball shape.
Once all cheese balls are ready, roll them one by one in different herbs and fruits which you have prepared early.
Serve these beautiful and tiny cheese balls with breads or biscuits. They are so good and tasty.

پنیرجزو لبنیاتی هست که همیشه طرفدار داره با هر طعمی فوق العاده خوشمزه هستن. این دستور تهیه ی  پنیر توپی با استفاده از پنیر فتا یا پنیر تبریزی خودمون و پنیر خامه ای   هست . شما می تونید با سبزیجات یا میوه های مورد علاقه ی خودتون اونها رو تهیه کنید. بسیار آسان و فوری تهیه میشن و به عنوان پیش غذا یا عصرانه خیلی مناسب هستند.

مواد لازم

سیصد گرم پنیر فتا یا پنیر تبریزی

سه ق غ پنیر خامه ای

دو ق غ پودر گل سرخ

دو ق غ پوست پرتقال کریستالی

دو ق غ گردوی خرد شده

دو ق غ تره ی خرد شده

طرز تهیه
در یک کاسه پنیر تبریزی را با پنیر خامه ای مخلوط کنید تا خوب حالت چسبندگی بگیرد. مقداری از پنیر به اندازه ی یک گردو برداشته و به شکل توپ در آورید.وقتی پنیر های توپی آماده شدند – دانه دانه در سبزیجات و میوه های از قبل آماده شده بغلطانید. این پنیر های توپی قشنگ و خوشمزه را با نان یا بیسکویت می توانید سرو کنید.

Brushchetta

Brushchetta is one Italian starters. So tasty and super easy to make it.

 

Ingredients
2 finely diced tomatoes
1 grated clove of garlic
Slices of baguette bread
2 Tbsp extra olive oil
1 Tsp balsamic vinegar
Few fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
In a bowl with diced tomatoes add grated garlic, vinegar, oil , mix all ingredient together.
Toast slices of bread in the oven at 220 C for about 6-8 minutes and then top toasted breads with mixture of tomatoes.
