Lassi is a traditional Indian beverage. Lassi is a yogurt based drink and might be sweet lassi or salty lassi.
Sweet Lassi is a mixture of yogurt with spices, milk /rose water and fruits such as mango, strawberries or lemon. It is flavoured with cardamom, saffron and rose water.
Salty Lassi is a mixture of yogurt with water and salt. Salty Lassi is called Doogh in Iran and is one of most popular drinks in Iran.
Saffron Mango Lassi
- 2 cups plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp cold milk
- 1 tbsp sugar or honey
- 1 tbsp saffron water
- 1 tbsp chopped pistachio
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- Peel and chop mangos.
- Place chopped mangos, sugar, milk, yogurt, saffron water, and cardamom in a blender.
- and blend for couple of minutes until smooth.
- Pour it in glasses and sprinkle chopped pistachio.
