This bread with crispy on exterior and soft on the inside, is light and low in carbohydrates.
Chickpea flour also known as gram flour or besan. You might call these breads pancake or crepe as well.
Ideal bread for dipping in yogurt, oils or vinegar. It’s pretty easy recipe includes basic batter made of chickpeas flour with water. These beautiful flat breads can be served hot or cold or frozen as well.
- 1 cup chickpeas flour
- 1 ½ cups cold water
- 1tbsp dried dill
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil
Mix chickpeas flour with salt- pepper, cumin, and garlic powder. Whisk in 1 cup of the water to form a paste and make sure there is no lumps.
Whisk in the remainder of the water and combine well. Let the batter rest for 30 minutes. It will make the interior cream when cooked.
Heat the oil in a large or tiny non stick frying pan.
Pour some of batter in the pan and spread it. Cook the batter until becomes firm , then flip over and bake other side (each side will need 3-4 minutes to bake).
Serve hot or cold . They go well with salads, yogurt, butter or any curry or stew. It’s very delicious bread.
